Four Lines of Sand

The story of the man
and the king of the ocean
and the sand
was one she had always found very curious

He gazes along the beach with
the same wide rosy-eyed fascination as twelve years before
he blinks softly
sunlight leaks through his memory like blood from a wound

She is the sand
he picked her
up running to the waves
in case the sea took her

Nobody could know
and so she left her clothes
on the pebbly shore
and waded out unblinking in the sun

This poem was written by four different people using the prompts of sand, three word line, and writing in third person as an experience.
